I posted this a few days ago but I thought I would put it on here again.

Hi, I am not from PA but lived there several years with my husbands family in Butler County. I am looking for information on my children's gr-grandparents. I know that they were married in PA and without digging out the paper it was around 1918 in Westmoreland (I think). The names are Andjew (Andrew) Pikun(Pikum) and Veronia Urmanowicz. What I am trying to find is where they are buried. I was told that Andrew was buried in Lower Burrell at Greenwood Memorial Park, but they have no record there. At least the cemetery says they have no record of it. After his death Veronia remarried a McCriski (sp) and I was also told she was buried there too. Any help would be appreciated.

Joyce,  I found Andrej PIKUN's marriage application to Weronika UMANOWICZ Westmoreland County.  Book 41 Record #41621 that was issued Oct 6, 1916.  They were married on October 30, 1916. I found this on the county web site.  http://westmorelandweb400.us8088/EGSPublicAccess.html

I hope this helps a little.

I  not sure why this link did not work but when you click on it there is a good link there for Westmoreland EGSPublicAccess to the records

I'm researching my husband's Westmoreland County, PA roots. Would love to connect with anyone related. These families all ended up in this county at some point (may have originated elsewhere before then):

Thanks - Allison Saxman
I am trying to locate the parents of James McManigle Born 1779-1780 in Ireland and died 20 Feb 1856, Jefferson County, Pennsylvania. James married Susanna Baecker Born 3 Oct 1793 in Pennsylvania and died 14 Feb 1870 in Jefferson County, Pennsylvania. I have found no record of a marriage in Westmoreland County, but their children were born in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. Paul M. Ruff sent a note to Pauline Fink with transcribed Baptismal Records from German Church Records of Western Pennsylvania Vol. IV, of the following children: Rebecca 11 June 1811/ 5 Feb 1813; John 15 Nov 1817/31 Jan 1817; Jacobus 22 Nov 1820/12 Apr 1821; Susanna 19 Jan 1828/27 Mar 1828; Salomon 13 Feb 1830/27 May 1830/ Elisabeth 5 May 1832/4 Sep 1832. We have found 11 children born to this couple: Rebecca b. 11 June 1811; John b. 15 Nov 1817 married Sarah Cobaugh; Esther b. 1818; William J. b. 1819 married Sarah Miller; Robert b. 18 Jan 1820 married Margaret Jane Steele; James b 22 Nov 1820 married first Mary Elizabeth (unknown) married second Elizabeth Nolf; Alexander b. 7 Jul 1823 married Juliet Graham; Christine b. 19 Jan 1826 married Stephen Douglas Oaks; Susanna b. 19 jan 1828 married John Harvey Brunner; Solomon Ellsworth b. 13 feb 1830 married Mary Jane Mason; Elizabeth b. 5 May 1832 married Mathew Thornton Gayley.
James McManigle is found in the 1810, 1820, 1830 US Federal Census of Hempfield, Westmoreland County, PA. Also in 1840 and 1850 US Federal Census for Eldred, Jefferson County, PA. Where he came from unknown. Where in Ireland was he born in Ireland, unknown. Same with Susanna Baecker. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Researching the Brewer Family from Unity Twp., Westmoreland County.
Ancestors name James W.(William) Brewer, brothers; John and Abijah. Sisters; Sarah married to John Buzzard, Agnes, Rebecca, Charlotte married to James Krytzer. We have found their father's name; Jacob, born either Maryland or Virginia, with a possible 2nd wife named Rebecca. I am in contact with tow cousin from John Brewer's family and from Abijah Brewer's family. My Great- Great Grandfather James W. Brewer, is rather well researched. He and his wife Elizabeth Arnold had 12 children, I've gotten in concact with quite a few. We have come to a "wall", not knowing where our Brewer's originated. It seems we may have an "english" surname, but could have come from Germany. Lots more to prove!
If any of these name sound familier, please contact me, I would like to meet more of my "cousins", and of course I will share my information, maybe you might have something I don't!

I am looking for a 1802 court petition by Elizabeth (ROSS) McKinstry, widow of William McKinstry seeking to have the court appoint Robert Watson as guardian of the couples children.  Based on the information posted on their website, the county may not hold this type of information from this date.  If they do hold it, I am told that it will be in the Register of Wills office but they have not answered my inquiries.

Is there any active genealogical society which may hold this record?
