The bulk of my West Virginia ancestors lived in the Fayette county area (also in Monroe and Greenbrier counties). I have the 1993 edition of History of Fayette County West Virginia if anyone would like me to do any look-ups.

Places of note for my Fayette county ancestors include Meadow Bridge, Rainelle, Quinnimont, Sewell Mountain, and Danese.

Names in my research include: Spade, Thomas, Fox, Bowyer, Sanner, Kincaid, and Legg.

Do you need any help with your family history in those areas?
Oooh, I do have a "job" of sorts that you may be able to assist me with! My great great grandmother Vernie Lee Sanner Spade does not seem to have a death certificate at the State Archives, they suggested I check with the Fayette County Clerk. According to her tombstone, she died 2 Jun 1944. I know that there is an obit in the Charleston Gazette on Sunday 4 Jun 1944, but I do not have a copy of it, and I am unsure as to how to obtain a copy. She was married to Letcher Esco Spade, I believe they married about 1900 or 01. I would love to have a copy of their marriage record as well.

I will look through my files and see if I have any other questions for you! Thank you so very much for your offer of assistance!
Sorry It has taken me so long to get back in touch with you on this matter. I can go to the archives in charleston, wv and see if i can find her death/obt for you.

These counties are familiar to me! My great grandfather, John Royal Alley (1898-1967) died and is buried in Rainelle but I do not know where in WV he was born. His parents were Jacob Alley and Elizabeth Walton and he married Annie Lou Keatley.
Alison, According to their marriage registration (http://www.wvculture.org/vrr/va_view.aspx?Id=12060747&Type=Marr... ) he was born in Claremont, Fayette County. Couldn't find a birth record for him.
