Comment by Mark Bailey on August 4, 2009 at 12:01pm: Paula, I didn't forget you. I'm going through research my dad did on his Bailey family. Unfortunately, his style of documenting is well, all over the map. But I do see Baileys' from VA. James Bailey and family, early-mid 1800s census data, comes to mind. Dad's immediate family lived in KY. Some moved to OH, and WV. Weirton to be specific. I'll continue piecing things together and will let you know some of my findings.

Of course, "Estie" was born in November, which actually made her closer to 7 months. Which, if the correct family, would have Hazel born at 9 months after Estie's birth. [Happened alot in one of the families I've been researching, so a possibility.]

Comment by Ken Jones on August 4, 2009 at 10:12am: Cyndi,thanks for looking I really appreciate it. Yes Hazel may have had a sister named Laura so all the names except for Estie fits the bill. I did forget to say Hazel was not born until August of 1900 so she would not have been on any census for that year. Again thanks a million,any time I can return the favor let me know.

Comment by Cyndi Beane Henry on August 4, 2009 at 9:02am: Ken, I did locate a SamuelStanley with wife, Lydia, daughter Laura, and daughter, Estie, in the 1900 Census. But they are already living in KY at that time. [Magisterial District 7, Pike Co., KY; found on Roll T623_548, for 21 June 1900]. Samuel is listed as 21 with birth info as being born in Mar 1879 in KY; Lydia as 19 being born Dec 1880 in KY; Laura as 1 born Aug 1898 in KY and Estie 6.12 being born Nov 1899 in KY. Does any of this info match up with what you know of your family?

I've checked and re-checked what I have on WV and can't find any matches so far in state.

Comment by Ken Jones on August 4, 2009 at 8:25am: A sister to Hazel may have been Laura. I got more info from a cousin...Hazel was born in Williamson,WV then they moved to Pike County,Ky.Lydia Lowe was also married to a John Sparks,date unknown. John Sparks was her 2nd husband.

Comment by Cyndi Beane Henry on August 4, 2009 at 7:52am: Ken, Do you know if your great-grandmother had any siblings? The Stanley name seems fairly prolific and there are several Sam[uel]'s. I haven't been able to locate one with a spouse named Lydia. However, if there were older children than Hazel I may be able to cross-reference through them. Best of Luck!

Comment by Bob Mooney-Pa on August 4, 2009 at 7:40am: Mathew E. Mooney was my gr grandfather from Kanawha county WV. Born in Boone county Va 1843 he was the son of John Mooney and Susanah Hanks (no not Lincolns aunt so far). Mathew was one of 14 children to John and Susanah.
During the Civil War he first belonged to the Confederacy and later on joined the Union. He was not a galvanizied Union soldier. He had been married 4 times having a total number of children of 11. He had a twin brother named Lewis who died in the US Army hospital in Galipolis Ohio of typhod fever at the age of 20. Lewis also belonged to the Confederacy and then the Union.
Anyone with this line or having any info please let me know.

Yes, I know all about the Morris and See families. I am a member of the DAR and the two Wms and Michael See are supplemental ancestors for me. My ancestor on whom I joined DAR is William Whittaker of Princeton, MA. Four of his sons, Wm. (my GGG Grandfather), Aaron, Thomas, and Levi, all settled in Charleston, Kanawha Co., VA; Wm being the first one of the bros. to come in 1806. I plan to move to the area when I retire and transfer to the Wm. Morris Chapter. I now belong to the John Mac Donald Chapter of Miami Springs, Florida as I live in Miami. Thanks for your reply and nice to meet you.
