I am researching the Whitlock Family of Goochland County, Virginia. My ancestor is Judith Whitlock, daughter of (unknown) Whitlock and Judith Corley. Her daughter, Judith Whitlock married George Washington Farra on 22 Dec 1824 in Lexington, Rockbridge, Virginia. Their only son was my 2rd great grandfather, John Moody Farra, who served in the Civil War on the Union side as a blacksmith. He eventually married Mary Ellen Raines in Pulaski County, Virginia and moved to Wayne County, West Virginia, where they both died and is buried. They had 10 children who went on to leave his descendants all over southern West Virginia, as well as Michigan, Ohio, California, South Carolina and other states all over.
