I can not seem to get further back than my 3rd Great -Grandfather, James O. Wilkinson, b: July 29, 1811, Jefferson Co., GA; d: May 11,1872 Polk Co., TX. He married Mary Ann Purvis, b: Dec 3, 1815, Jefferson Co., GA; d: Dec 25, 1865, Polk Co., TX; m: Dec 2, 1831 Jefferson Co., GA

Supposedly they traveled by wagon train in 1854/55 to Texas with the TURNER, BROCK, PEEBLES, and other families, ending up in Polk County Texas.
Their Children:

2.George B. Wilkinson, b. Feb 9, 1836, GA ; d Sept 1, 1840
3. David M. Wilkinson b: Feb 12, 1838 Georgia; d: March 21, 1877 Hardin Co, TX (Co. E. 20th Texas Infantry, Elmore's Regiment, Enlisted May 2, 1862- Polk Co.)
4. Marcus V./A. Wilkinson b: 1840 Georgia (Civil War-Co. E., 20th Texas Infantry, Elmore's Regiment, Enlisted May 2, 1862 Polk Co.)
5. James S. Wilkinson b: 1846 AL; d. ? (Civil War-Co. E., 20th Texas Infantry, Elmore's Regiment, Enlisted May 7, 1863 Polk Co. age 17)
