Colonel James Williams of 96th District, South Carolina

I am looking to connect to other descendants of this line of Williams' from VA and NC and SC.

I am from Colonel James Williams' brother, Henry Williams (1734-1785) of Caswell Co., NC. Their father was Daniel Williams (1710-1759) of Granville Co, NC.

Henry's daughter Susannah Williams (1765-c1795) married Christopher Brooks in Caswell Co., NC before 1781. They had a son called Christopher Williams Brooks born in 1781, died 1840 in Caswell Co., NC. He was married to Isabella Kerr, Nov 28, 1812 in Caswell Co., NC.

Many descendants believe Christopher Williams Brooks was the son of George Brooks because George left some land to his "heir" Christopher Brooks. However, because Christopher was still a minor, the land was put in the hands of his grandfather, Henry Williams. It is still difficult getting people to believe that Christopher Brooks Sr was Christopher Williams Brooks' father and NOT George Brooks.
