This group focuses on descendants and, hopefully, ancestors of Thomas Southard b. 1615 in Holland, immigrated to New Amsterdam (New York).

So glad you found me! I'm hoping you can help me with something... my Southards get confusing with William Newton Southern, b 1818 d 1870. I found several trees on Ancestry who have his parents as Martin T. Southard and Elizabeth Southard (as though that were her maiden name). I show her parents as being Henry Southard b 1734 d 1813 and Ruth Gorsline b 1754 d 1845. I believe you have these two on your website, but no last name for Ruth. My Martin T. Southard trail is cold, I haven't even found his parents.

Thanks for starting this group. I haven't EVEN searched the Southerns on my Mom's side- AACK!

    Hi Nancy,
I have no more information on this line than you found on my website. But which website?!? If it was the Worldfamilies one there should be a line leader you can contact. If it was my own genealogy, check the Source citation to see if there is a contact shown. Of course, as always, if no last name is shown, it usually means the research could not find one.

    Good luck!

Hi Doris, I am still around but have been working on another line lately. Glad to be part of this site, altho I am a little confussed. I guess I will get the hang of it as time goes by.

as to what I am to do with it.

Nice to have you aboard, Arlene. I think we've pretty much decided that your family belongs to the Southworth line, which John Hogg is working on. I hope you'll get in touch with him too as you try to sort out all these families.
    Best,
    Doris

    Doris,
Do you know anything about Martin T Southard and Elizabeth Southard who had a son Martin Southard born in NC and died in Missouri
