Welcome to the Group. While your searching in Ireland why not go a bit further and search Scotland?
    Again welcome.

Hi Debbie. I'm very new to this family research thing but, like you, am married into the Kipp family. After doing some research, I think that our husbands may be descended from the same John Kipp family from Piqua/Woodson County, Kansas. My husband's grandfather is Edward C. Kipp, son of John P. and Margaret Kipp. Have you figured out any other info? Looking forward to putting the piece together! Best regards, Anna Kipp

This is fantastic! I feel like I've scored the genealogy jackpot! I started this process a year ago but then gave up. Came back to it just a few days ago and it feels like all the pieces and unanswered questions are coming together now. Not sure if I can be of more help as you have so much information. Here's Edward Cornelius Kipp's info, however: b. Feb. 7, 1915, d. Apr. 10, 1976, McAllen, TX. Married Elizabeth Fladun. 2 daughters and 1 son, Edward Joseph Kipp, the father of my husband (Edward Joseph Kipp II). My father-in-law tells me that the baseball player, Fred Kipp was the son of Charles. Not sure how much of the "step" side you want information on but Margaret married Frank Haen and had 4 sons.

I found a couple of other Kipps in the census who were living in Piqua but don't know how they relate -- and maybe they don't or perhaps it's misspelling/misinformation as it seems like a lot of them were: Jennie (1908?), Rosa (1914?), Theodore (1918?), Agnes (1920?), May (1841?), John C. (1869?), Edwin (1860?), Elizabeth (1864?). I think the other names I found: Anthony H., Norbert, Louise A., Mary, Colletta, and Rosie were the children of Henry and Johanna. Is that correct?

By any chance do you have any idea where the family originated from in Germany? When they came? We are currently living in Switzerland and would love to be able to make the "local" connection and perhaps visit where they are from.

You've been such a tremendous help! This can be incredibly frustrating for a novice and I am relieved to finally have found some connection. Seems like there are a lot of Kipps out there on the message boards!

Funny how the wives are doing the search, isn't it? Cheers, Anna

    Debbie,
Thank you for responding to my friend request. :)
I am starting to research my dad's family history. We are from South Central Kansas and I wondered about the possibility that your family is somehow linked with mine in the tree.
Are you willing to share what you have learned of your Kipp family to this point?
What I have after just a couple days research is this:
    Jack Wilbur Kipp
    Bill Kipp
    Lorraine Elswick
We have a lineage with Bahl, Gilley, and Mattoon families
