That's definitely my line. We used to have a Farrington Reunion each summer in Ohio. My paternal great grandmother was Mary Frances (Maeve) Farrington Denton. I never knew her, but her husband lived until 1951 and I did know him. Do you have the Farrington & Kirk Family Book?
I have the book and will be glad to give you what information I can. Not all of it is correct, but I think it's fairly accurate. I might have some things you could use. For example, do you have a copy of Tacie's death certificate? I also have some copies of old articles about Abraham 1691 - 1758. One is a brief biography. Right now I don't remember where I got it from. I also have one of the Farrington Bibles that I treasure.
I don't have a Jesse as a brother for Mary & Tacie. I'll see if I can find out anything. Sure wish more of the earlier generations of our reunion goers were still alive. I've lost touch with everyone. It's been at least 15 years (maybe even 20) since the last one. Is there a way to upload the news articles here or do you want me to send it to your email address?
Hi Dawn. I saw your post in the brick wall group, and have some suggestions for other places you can look. (I have a lot of ancestors in the Loudoun/Prince William/Fauquier area).
You may have already done this, but the first thing that I would do would be to obtain the tax lists for Loudoun County, VA, for the time around 1805 (your Norval Hiskett's birthdate). At that time, all males 16 years of age and older had to pay tax, and therefore should appear on the tax lists. You can ILL the microfilmed tax lists through the Library of Virginia (I've done this a lot, since I live in Iowa). Once you've gone through the tax lists, you'll be able to see how many men with the surnames Heskitt, Hiskett, etc. were living in that are at that time, and what their names were. Then, follow the tax lists through time. If you're lucky, your Norval will still be living in Loudoun when he gets old enough to be listed on his own. Even if you don't find him in Loudoun, you may still be able to tell if and when the family as a whole migrated from the area. You may also find that you need to check surrounding counties, in case the family just moved over the county line. (I see a lot of Heskett's in Jefferson County, Virginia on the census). I hope this helps.
Good luck, Dawn. I hope you find Norval. FYI, Jefferson County later became part of West Virginia, so if that is your family, you may have to try a different source than the Library of Virginia for the tax lists. I'm not sure, but I think they passed on all the tax lists for all the Virginia counties that became West Virginia to West Virginia's custody, meaning that those lists would be in a WV facility.
interesting, I saw a Rev. Isaac Burr in a book: A general history of the Burr family in America.

he graduated yale college in 1717. Must be more than ONE Isaac Burr that was a preacher.
