Lawrence (or Laurence) Magers died between 21 Aug 1818 (date on will) and 10 May 1819 (date will presented for probate) in Knox County, OH. He never married. His will was witnessed by John Fureness and William Magers and left all of his property, both real and personal, to his sister Henrietta (who was unmarried at the time of his death). Executor of the was John Arnold, who was to care for Henrietta's needs. At her death, the will specified that all property was to be divided equally among his other siblings, who were not named in the will.

MOST of the Knox County, OH, "Magers" family were Catholic and originated from Maryland.

I have an online database of early Knox County, OH, families here ( http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?db=knoxcooh). It is FAR from complete, but I add connections and people daily and update the info around the first of every month.

I actually saw the will at the Knox Co records center in Mount Vernon, so he didn't die intestate. What you might have seen was a Chancery Court proceeding (which is where they did all adjudications regarding property in the early days). Given that his property was to pass to his other siblings "in toto" when Harriet died, do you have a date for that court proceeding?
