Looking for my father's family members and kin , my father , James Rufus Cosby, was born in Rocky Mount, NC circa 1915-1917, as far as I know and from the 1930 census record, my g father name was, Joe Cosby born circa 1852-1872 and he married a Woman named, Nannie Brown Shields , but I believe he was married before Nannie,  because I have found a marriage certificate of my grand father , Joe, marriage to a Lucy Rhodes also in Rocky Mount, NC. so i believe Lucy Rhodes , could be my father, James, natural mother, because Nannie was not, and my father , told my mom he was abandoned first by his mother and then after his father died he was abandon my his step mom Nannie. And this is why he did not totally trust woman and also he had emotional problems as a result of this, but i don't want to point any fingers until i find out the whole story, if i can, i want to know what happened to my father's mother and his step mother, so i am also looking for any one related to them also. My father also had an brother named , Joseph, probably born a few years earlier than him and a he had a sister named Mary Cosby, born 1923 according to the 1930 census but i have not met any of them and i have never met any of my father's relatives either for that matter , but i would love to find out about his side of the family.
