John Whitbread (Brocket Park Mansion)

This is a photo of my great grandfather John Whitbread. He was born in 1861 at the Green Man public house, Shefford, Bedfordshire. On the 1881 census he was working as a footman at Brocket Park Mansion, Hertfordshire. This photo also shows that he was involved in the gamekeeping or hunting on the estate. Sadly he died at the age of 38 after contracting tetanus.
