I would be thrilled with any assistance you can give me. Since my post I did receive a lot of help from James P. LaLone and additionally found that Marie Gigigokwe translates to Sky Woman or at least according to one reference I found. I have several other other names though that I would love to have translated especially Bomakeghick or the many other similar spellings for this name.
I've been to the Garden River area once shortly after I opened my adoption records in 1997 and found the links to the Sault Ste Marie MI and Canada area as well as the Garden River area. Garden River a beautiful area and similar to where I live in MN. Thank you for your offer of help.
