Hi Becky! My Kretzer's started with Fredrich (?) August Kretzer and Minnie Dheel. He and his first wife and family came to the US in 1880's. She died and he found Minnie ( they knew each other in Germany and she left to come here with her family) their son Ernest August Kretzer was my Grandfather.They originated out of Schlarpe,Germany. But he finally settled in Carter County,Kentucky. I have been trying to remember,w/o pulling the files out LOL, where they were when they met again. I'm thinking it may have been in Maryland. We are packing up and will be moving next week but as soon as I can, I will get the info and check. I have the ship's passenger list that has the names of all passengers on board. Do you have any dates of Leonard?
