Dear Bob,
Fun to hear from you. My dad's name was "Bob Brennan". I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. My Brennans originated in Charlestown, County Mayo, Ireland. My grandfather, James P. Brennan, one of 11, was born in 1866 and came to Pittsburgh around 1880 - 83. If your family line is older than that, I'm beginning to think there were some relatives in the Philadelphia area or even Pittsburgh before the 1880's. Why else would they have settled there? Jame's brothers and father [widowed] came to Pittsburgh also. Otherwise, I'm not sure there would be a connection. Let me know what you think, okay?
