Sorry for a late reply. I've been busy working on a friend's family and have not been looking here!! I'll work on getting a report run of the descendants of Jacob and Aaltje that I have recorded and send that to you, I will be in Michigan again in September, but only briefly in Holland.
Oh, and yes, I did go to The Netherlands - 3 years ago already now! I went with my daughter, we did a little of the tourist things and a lot of just driving around family locations in 5 provinces. But we did not do any research or try to contact any potential family. Next trip! (We did stay at a nice B and B in Harderwijk)
Sorry, I don't do this stuff often and am unfamiliar with the site!! But I see now the message I wrote about 15 minutes ago - at 8:0 pm, is posted here below at 6:46. So that explains why you thought I was at work so early!
I think that Willemtje Morren who married Willem Hop is the sister of my great-grandmother Aaltje. I have a bunch of odds and ends, inclding photos I took at Beaverdam cemetery last year, but that line has gone on the back burner. I spent my last trip (over Memorial Day) at Graafschap cemetery (other side of the family).
I do have Jacob Hop and Aaltje Mulder in my database of a boatload of Hops, but as far as I know they are not related to me (at least not back to about 1780)
How exciting!! I have not made any connections for this line so far. (and frankly, those I have "connected" with have asked for what I know and never told me a thing they knew!!)
I have seen a Morren book at Herrick, but it had very little on my family. Aas I recall, there is something on Hops also, but not sure how related. Do you know who your immigrant Hop was? I have boatloads of data of families in Hierden (mine) and Harderwijk and other nearby communities. Mostly from Genlias and that other site which name escaped me (sorry, at work right now)
