There are quite a few Poe's in this area. I always say we like to run in packs...lol. It sounds as if your father and my grandfather (Russell Poe) would have been around the same ages - I wonder if there's more of a connection.
Whats the C. ? Or do I call you Allen .... lol
My line of Poe's leads back to Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
Thats where Patrick Poe married Abigail Day in 1732 and had son
Edward Poe who married Martha Brittain in 1754. After Bucks County,
the family trail leads to SE Ohio, because Edward & Martha's son
Joseph B. Poe Sr moved there and married Barbara Roe. Joseph Jr
had my second Great Grandfather William Brittain Poe Sr. in Clermont
County Ohio...I'm gettin carried away here.... anyway... thats my story and i'm stickin to it !.... then they crossed the river into Kentucky and later my
Grandfather moved his family up into Indiana in 1926....
Leads and skimpy info I have beyond that leads to all three countries in which you have an interest...Eng, Scot, Ireland.
Some researchers are happy just to acquire info.... but I seriously try to
document all connections for validation. I have a cousin who has researched all the way back to Italy.... but he cannot prove anything because he doesn't document his research....
better quit here... I'm writin a book seems like..... your turn!
