Who Am I?

Sounds like a stupid question to some people, but for years I wondered about the people in my past who made me the person I am today. Of course certain events and things in life will make you and mold you into who you are, but I need to know about my ancestors. Who were they? Where did they live? What did they do? What did they look like? Do I look like any of them? Do I get my kind heart from one of them or my temperament from someone else? I started researching my family tree about 15 years… Continue

Cindy, Where are your Neely ancestors located in the US?
Richard Dooly born 1804 County Clair, immigrated 1845 to Mount Pleasant Twp., Green, Wisconsin. He married Catherine Hickey born Christmas 1810 Queens County. They had 3 children before immigrating. I still have a brother-in-aw, who lives in Green County, Wisconsin, but he and his wife do not have any children. But the other siblings including my husband and I have male children so the name lives on. There are Dooley cousins also living in Wisconsin.
So unless your Dooley name and my Dooley name can be connected back in Ireland, I doubt we are very closely related. But that is one of the reasons I'm here, to find relatives, and go back further in Ireland.

Ora Lucy Overstreet b 1868 Bedford, VA d Oct 7, 1960. Her parents were Samuel M Overstreet b Feb 14, 1838 Bedford d Sep 7, 1906 m Martha A Meador b Oct 4, 1844 Bedford d Mar 5, 1926. Samuel's parents were Thomas C Overstreet b c1800 Bedford d Sep 4, 1876 m Elizabeth Dickinson b c 1800 d 1841. Thomas' father was also a Thomas b Oct 15, 1744 Orange Co., VA d Apr 1842 m Barsheba ?? b c1745 d Nov 29, 1825.
We might be related. My father grew up in the Thaxton area and my g-grandmother was Ora Lucy Overstreet.
