I am descended from Ann Harris née Floyd my great grandmother on my maternal side.
The family history up the Branch goes back to pre secret river days I.e pre 1810 . Mary Holland I.e Mary Ann Holland’s mother was the mother (like her daughter after her) of three families to 3 men. One whom was Joseph Butler who was an early settler on the MacDonald , after years apart she went back to live with her son Sylvester there and is believed to have married Joseph. This led her daughter Mary Ann and her 2nd husband James Floyd to settle there near her half brothers I believe.
I have some more stuff on the Floyds if you are interested. Recently I was linked to a person called Daryl Jurd through DNA which is interesting because although Jurd is a MacDonald pioneer name, as are the other names on his family tree list, I.e Bailey and Thompson, I can’t find any connection so Someone might have been playing offside. I used go up the Mac to stay with Emma And Ivy Thompson as a child and visit the Steinbecks.
