Most of the time, in my experience, the marriage will have stated "city of St. Louis" and/or something to that effect that designates city/county. In that era, I'd suggest starting in the City proper.....unless they were farmers then the county....can't really tell you when the County was actually designated a separate county either so that finding that out might help to get you started down the correct path. Do you know what church (if at all) they were married? I'd be happy to help but can't guarantee that I'd get it done anytime soon....I think you can do some things online...not sure though.....
