Dora,

I am a descendant of Mahershal who is the son of Catherine.  So it sounds that I would not be eligible.  Otherwise, I would be interested.

Nate

I must add that my father was not an expert in this field so his findings could easily be wrong. He did the best he could pre-internet. I am surprised how much he found with limited resources. He thought the Roger in Scotland went to Ireland and had a son Roger that was born in Ireland.

So then who was Nathan's Father? The Rev. John?

I don't think it was a corruption at all. Looks like a direct and complete steal! It is the McKenzie Crest we had in our home. I think one of the early "Crest" companies sold him a bill of goods. By the way is Roger then Roger then Nathan correct? I have Nathan born 1712. Died 1790 in Warwick Pa? Married to Mary Taylor.

I would love to do DNA test once I get employed again. My tech career moved to China without me so I am looking for a new position.

Sorry. Having trouble navigating this site. I found files from Dad. Yes he shows Nathan. Interesting that I ended up living in Bucks County in the 1970's after being born in Baltimore Maryland and growing up in Roanoke Va. Karma I guess. He has MacKenstrae written down on top. Roger->Roger->Nathan->Samuel->Jesse->Harrison->Charles->Frank->Charles->Charles->Martin(Me)->Jessica and Heather and Sarah my daughters.

I have to find the file with the data my Dad put together. His name was Charles and he was born in 1922 in Baltimore MD, he died in 2010. He traced us back to Roger I believe. He spent a lot of years visiting graveyards and libraries prior to the internet coming up. I remember a copy of the  1800's Harvard book on the McKinstry's in the file. He had a large sheet of paper folded up with a lot of names and dates. I believe there was a McKinstry daughter married to US Grant. I will look tonight for the file. If I can I will scan and upload to you. If you have pointer to digital picture of Coat of Arms I'd appreciate the help.

Thanks for your response! Do you know where I can see a picture of the one you are talking about? Also, is there any other one that would be the real thing for my family? Thanks!

Hi Dora, Do you know the correct Coat of Arms for the McKinstry family? I have been searching online and do not see the one my father had in our home growing up?
