Hello Doreen
I am researching the history of Gascoyne Estate and wonder if you can help me.
By chance I met Yatta Soraff recently , recovering very well in Homerton Hospital.
Yatta is currently in the next bed to my neighbour and I remembered seeing a
Soraff on the Gascoyne 1949 Electoral register so I mentioned this to her. Yatta confirmed that relatives once lived at number 80. Could this be your family ?
I am a film maker with a long track record in history and society documentaries,my series about the Travels of Edward Lear has been running on SkyArts for four years .
I have begun interviews with remaining residents nearby , Kit Crowley you may know and Brenda Whitmore. I am hoping to find more . I am also particularly keen to find photographs like the one enclosed of the estate .
