Also, I have a feeling that William B. Spencer may have been married before Adell and had children. I think Adell and William were married 10/1/1919 in Bentley, Aranac, Michigan.. maybe you can confirm this.
I am also guessing the they had children, Orville, Adel, Amos, Donald, and rose? which add up to his 5 siblings. the other siblings that may have been from williams first wife (florence?) may have been Gertrude, Clifford, Wilbur, and Clarance? maybe Orville can confirm this.
I would enjoy chatting with him. is he still in Lebonon? Snow Peak Place.. I think I have his phone number if so.
Hi there, Well I was going thru some old email and spotted our discussion. I found an article that may have shown him in a photo in the paper discussing the war and noticed he mentioned his half brother Harold Shoe... who I believe was my Grandmothers Brother.
I actually think we are related, I found Mildred on Facebook... I belive they were married and I have attempted to contact them.. there was also a Dora Koslow on one of their friends.. I think she may have been Dora Shoe (maiden name) and may also be related. I too am looking for info on my GG grandparents. and was hopeing that Oriville might have more info, but in the article in the paper, his dad died when he was 9. surprising enougth, though my family is back east, with a few in Montana, I'm one state north of Oriville. Take care Stephen
Somehow I think I forgot to reply to this thread, sorry for the delay.
My Mom now married, was a Wendt. Adell Howey(maiden) was her Grandma (1st marraige Shoe) Adell married william Spencer and then a Ralph Davis. Adells mom was married to a Ira Granden Howey and Fannie May gadsby. If I found this info out, Orville had passed..
If he is alive, great... I have a photo of him too. and questions for him too. Harry Shoe, from what I understand died at hickam field in Hawaii, shot down while pulling targets for trainees.. not sure about typhoids

Stephen, Thanks for the reply!!!
My friend is Orville Grandon Spencer b. 15Jan1922 to Fannie Adell Howey and William Spencer. Sounds right so far. He says he is the last surviving of 5 children. He wonders if you are related through Lyla. Are you are a Wendt? His recollection is that Harry Shoe died of typhoid. He thinks Fannie Gadsby has sibblings: Amos, Robert, F. Adell, Marion, Margaret, Alice, and Lyla. I list also a Sylvia H. and Ira W.
Orville's primary interest is the circumstances surrounding Fannie Ardell Howie's birth...beit on a ferry between the US and canadaa, or what. Any anecdotes on the topic?
it is interesting.. a Harry Guy Shoe did marry my GG grand mother Adell Howey.. that is what everyone called her, but I think I found info that showed that her first name was Fannie, her mother was Fannie Mae Gadsby. what i find interesting is that your friend is 88 and alive. from what I know, Fannie Adelle Shoe's children have since passed. so I am not sure it this is the same one. Fannie A's dad was Ira Granden Howey.
