Yes, the New Discussion in not at the top of the message.
Also, as I suggested earlier, there is a Family Tree Maker User page. I'll answer it here, in the Comments for me. The page to post your Family Tree Maker question is here:

A little higher on this page is a gray bar that goes across that says Discussion. Just above the next bar, you will see + Start Discussion.
What did you open as a HTML?
If you are in the Publish Workspace, in Version 2010 of Family Tree Maker, you will see a series of Collections of what you can publish. Selecting a Collection, you would then select what you want to publish, from within that collection. When the report / chart is generated, you will see, to the Right and above the report, a SHARE button. That will bring up a series of places that you can share your information.
IF you generate a PDF file, than can't be edited. BUT, if you export to a RTF file, that can be opened by your Word Processing.
I had hoped that you would have started a New Discussion about your question. It's much easier to follow the discussion, when you start a New One.
To generate a Genealogy Report, please look at the Publish Workspace. Once there, and you have generated what you want, you can use the Share ICON, in the Upper Right of that screen, do export a number of different ways.

To answer to the Privatize Question is in the Tools menu, under Options.
What Headers / Footers are you trying to delete? and where.
You do NOT have to delete Source-Citations (actually EndNotes). There is an option to turn them off.
Russ
Do you see Discussion Forums? Then RSS? Just above RSS is the Start Discussion with a Plus sign.
Did you privatize your file, before you ran it? That would have changed names to "living".

The best place to start a New Discussion on the Family Tree Maker program is here:

Glad you found the menu.
Good luck,
