Thank you for your response. Would you say that I have little or no chance of ever tracing my grandfather's line seeing as both he, and his mother were illegitimate? I do believe that you have found the correct Isaac Edvard Korpela. I was wrong, he was born in 1887. I looked for the source of your information and found a phrase that I don't understand. "itsellinen in Wierula". Can you help me with this? I guess maybe this explains why my grandfather did not wish to discuss his mother. There must have been a stigma attached to his birth at that time. Is there anything in the information that might suggest that his mother was an immoral woman?
