My husband's Kerr line came from Ireland, but we're not exactly sure where. Some thought Donegal, but so far that's purely guesswork... They came to the Philadelphia, PA area about 1861, but haven't found much on where they came from...
The Kerrs (my husband's line) came to Philadelphia about 1860 from Ireland. We don't know where, but Donegal has been a guess. The immigrant ancestor was a George F. Kerr, who came with a daughter Lizzie and a son Speirs and a son John J. He also had a wife Maria, but don't know if she came with them or was married in Philadelphia. Very hard to track down, the whole family is good at hiding!
