Hi Jerry: It has been awhile since we corresponded. I am starting to work on a timeline for Josiah Williams - 1st wife Abigail Williams (daug. of Providence Williams & Elizabeth Gary Williams) 2nd wife, Mary L. Polly Tweedle. I descend from Josiah & Polly Tweedle Williams to Isaac (Ike) Williams & Sarah Jane Norman Williams and their son Joseph (Josiah) Harden Williams & Adeline Susan Dawson Williams. Their son, Bert Williams was my Grandfather.
The Williams Researchers I work with are preparing documents to give to a researcher to find Daniel's father and other information on the family. His wife was Cassandra Prather Williams. We are still trying to determine Josiah (Jr.) who married Sarah Williams, daug. of Josiah (old) and Abigail Williams. We know Sarah met her cousin when visiting relatives in Georgia. My notes say that James Pinkney Williams was born in route to or from Georgia to Kentucky. tina
Jerry: Wanted to let you know we have another DNA match to our Williams families.
James Williams who married Nancy West. They lived in Christian Co., Kentucky after
leaving Newberry Co., SC. Tina
Hi Jerry: The following responses are what I received from Carmen Baxter, Josiah & Abigail's descendant and Mary Stansbury Williams,
Josiah & Mary Polly Tweedle Williams' descendant. I am also from
Josiah and Mary Polly Tweedle Williams. This is from Carmen.
"The only Josiah Jr and Sarah descendants Mom and I have been in contact with over the years are folks from dau Eliza Jane (Williams) Roach {my line), dau Louisa Paralee (Williams) Reynolds {Jean Brown--may be dead?} and son Isaac B. Williams {Robert Williams, Grubbs, Ark}. I have never heard of Indian coming in through the Williams."
NO, SARAH WAS NOT INDIAN. ONE OF HER
OFF SPRINGS COULD HAVE MARRIED AN
INDIAN BUT I HAVE NEVER HEARD THAT.
CARMEN MIGHT HAVE SOMETHING IF ANYONE
HAS. (AND CARMEN MIGHT LIKE TO HAVE THIS
CONTACTAS SARAH AND JOSIAH JR ARE HER
LINE.)
MARY
Jerry, would you like Carmen's e-mail. Also my cousin's DNA is with other descendants in Group 41 on the Williams research site. Your DNA would be the same. Here is a link to thank site: http://williams.genealogy.fm/
Jerry: Do you know anything about the Josiah that Sarah, daug. of Josiah and Abigail, married? I have he was born in SC, 17 Oct. 1801.
Josiah would visit family in Georgia and that is where Sarah met her
cousin, Josiah (we call him Jr. or Blackheaded). So, there were our
Williams family in Georgia, but we can't find out where or who?
I have that James Pinkney Williams was born 7 Mar 1825 in route to Georgia.
Do you know anything about the "Pinkney" name?
Jerry:
Oh my gosh! So glad to hear from you. I am a descendant through
Josiah and his 2nd wife Mary L. Polly Tweedle. I work with other
descendants of Josiah. One, Carmen Baxter, who is a descendant
of Sarah, Josiah & Abigail's daughter, who married Josiah Williams from Georgia.
I have heard of possible Indian heritage. I just sent your message
on to two other researchers. Hope to hear back from them soon.
