Have you inquired of the Town Cleerks in Hancock Cointy or the County Clerk of Hancock County or any of the churches in the area? Have you checked Google Books for any histories of Hancock County? How about Civil War military records? Another good ource of information are genealogical and/or historical societies at the county or town level You can find them by Googling the town or county and genealogical or historicall society. You can also try Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness (http://www.raogk.org/listing.htm).
