I'd love to take a peek at the tree. My email: kimotley2003@yahoo.com I've entered a lot into Geni.com, but I don't subsribe and have never attempted an invite. I was hoping to find more info on Benjamim the immigrant. I'd like to know what part of England he was from.
I have four children listed for Jacob 1777. I know there were many others but I don't have sources for them. One was my 3rd great, William Henry Weddington b 1816 (not to be confused with his brother William Weddington 1846 from a later marriage). William Henry 1816 had many children. I have 7 listed. One of them was America Weddington b 1858 Pike County Illinois.
Yes there's a connection. Jacob 1777-1869 was my fourth great grandfather...the son of Benjamin and Martha. I don't have anything on him going to Co or Ca. I show in being born in Shenandoah County, VA and d. in Little Sandy, Elliot Ky. His wife was Jane Presley. He had two other wives also. I did know about him being in the war. When I get a chance I'll look to see what I have on him. My line to him goes as follows: Benjamin W. > Jacob 1777 > William Henry W > William Claybern W. > Anna Fern Weddington > Maurice Claybern Snodgrass (my maternal grandfather).
Jacob 1777 has a sister, Martha "Mattie" Weddington. He married a Hatfield. Her great grandson's Devil Anse Hatfield. There's a cousin connection with Benjamin and Martha as the common ancestor.
My 5th greats were Weddingtons. Benjamin Weddington 1734-1790 and his wife Martha Simpson Weddington of England and Va. Let me know if you think there's a connection to your Weddingtons.
