The TWISS family of SHROPSHIRE (ALICE AND ROBERT) had humble beginnings. They owned a small but prosperous farm. RICHARD TWISS (my 7th gt grandfather) youngest son B.1609 died 1682 was recruited as Land Agent for LORD CHERBURY, in Kerry, IRE. in 1656. Richard Twiss father died c.1630 and left him fourteen pounds, but farm went to ADAM, his older brother. ALICE SPEAKE TWISS (Richard's mother) left him Ten pounds.
