never used a program myself, doesn't it open? YUP, just click it, it will go to the werbpage and opens in a viewer like pdf. However I guess based on your dates, it's not the right guy so I'll keep reading!
I was looking thru a book site and this index lists about 20 Thorpe references in VA, one Major Thorpe, you might want to look at some of the publications for more info on your Thorpes:
V I R G I N I A H I S T O R I C A L I N D EX
IN TWO VOLUMES
by E. G. Swem, Librarian of the College of William and Mary
Volume One
A - K
references quoted include:
Abbreviations: C = Calendar of Virginia State Papers; H = Hening's Statutes; N = Lower Norfolk County Antiquary; R=Virginia Historical Register;
T = Tyler's Quarterly; V = Virginia Magazine of History; W(l) = William and Mary Quarterly, Ist series; W (2) = William and Mary Quarterly, 2d
So those might hold alot of information to help you out if you could find them in a library, genealogical society, or borrow them or get lookups???
