Hi Lori,
I am trying to find the name and location of the cemetery where Maskle & Dewey Helton Wilson are buried.
Are you aware that there were two or more Helton family lines who settled in Tishomoingo Co., MS? One of my cousins sent info regarding a man named Dewey Helton. I checked with my other Helton cousins and they did not recognize the name.
I found a copy of the marriage record for Miss Dewey Helton and Maskle Wilson at the Circuit Court in Iuka. That set me on a search for a connection to my Helton line.
I did not find a connection. I believe the Heltons you are researching came from GA prior to settleing in Tishomingo Co. My Heltons, came from TN prior to settling in Tishomingo Co.
The connection that I discovered was that Maskle's sister Fannie married into my Parsons line. She married Newton Lee Parsons. Newton Lee Parsons and my g grandmother Lu (Parsons) Helton were 1st cousins
