John Edwards, from Wales @1700-1710, settled near Perkiomen, Pa, not far from Philadelphia. That was 7 generations ago. 5 generations ago, the direct line ended up in Maryville, Mo
My grandmother was a Edwards. Her name was Laura E. Edwards born in Paduchah, Ket.
Her father was James N. Edwards born 1875 in Paduchah, Ket. His Father was Thomas Edwards born 1840 in Tenn. I'll have look up the Moon family and get back to about that.
I wanted to tell you that the earlies Mohn that I know of had bought land off of Didier Marschall of Cumru Township in Berks County when he sold part of his plantation property. Also, most of the Mohn families are buried in Mohn's Hill Cemetery. I took these photo's I am sending the link, (http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/berksp/tsimages/wyomissing.htm)
I feel that Moon was the early spelling of the name because when they were coming off the ship the people that wrote down their names spelled them as they heard them, because of the strong German Accent, also, the Mohn families started out around Adamstown, probably in the Cumru area or on the border of what is now Lancaster County, Pa. but, the Mohn's stayed mainly in Berks County, Pa. I have not seen any of the people you are looking for, but, the original Miller in Berks County, Pa.'s name was Peter Miller, his cabin now resides in Hawaii. Rose

Quaker, Peter Taylor, came on Amity with his brother, bought land from Penn, the next 4 generations were Quakers. He married Sarah Houlston, daughter Sarah married Robert Thornton, daughter Hannah Thornton married John Freeman, son Samuel Freeman married Rebecca Passmore, daughter Rebecca Freeman married Nathan Hobson and their daughter, Elizabeth Hobson married Burrwell Simms, Elizabeth and Burwell were not Quakers.
Sorry, Mark, I know of no DNA projects for any Edwards. Since I leave for Ireland in a month, I'm really concentrating on the Irish & Welsh, but I am aware of DNA research for those with Pommern (German Pomeranian) ancestry.
I have run across the Moon spelling also, mainly the Moon-Mohn families settled in Berks County, Pa. I feel it was probably because of the way they pronounced their names. But, there could be a possibility that Mohn is the Americanized version Of Moon. As far Your Miller I have no answer for that.
