The OFHS QS DVD has 4 ARTISS entries, and one ARTLESS.
Hopefully we'll put the Calendars of Prisoners onto a DVD similarly, so maybe you won't need to come to Oxford - though if you do, let me know - I'd be pleased to pop in & say hello !
the first thing I'd do is look in Jackson's Oxford Journal - free if your county suscribers to the British Library 19th century newspapers, which yurs doesn't seem to - but you aso do pay as you go (see the OFHS journal or my RootsWeb post.) I looked for your ARTISS, with no success.
Then there are the Quarter sessions records OFHS has published on a DVD. But i looked for - again, no joy.
The OXF resource is the Calendars of Prisoners, at ORO. The sort of thing you find is like http://www.dur.ac.uk/4schools/Crime/AC2.htm
There is a possibility OFHS may scan them for ORO. I'm sorry - I can't offer to look him up there for you - too much else I'm committed to do ...

You might be interested to join the England group - which has links to the county groups at GenealogyWise - and also the Oxfordshire one?
