As A child growing up and being the first grandson I was always told by my grandfather that "I was the most important Sheaffer" as it was up to me to carry the name on, and until I was 16 I was the only grandson. My grandfather always said he had no other Sheaffer cousins or at least those with the name Sheaffer. This stuck with me throughout my childhood often wondering what happened to all these other Sheaffer's. At around 13 I had a school project on family history, this was exciting to me…

I live in New Jersey, but I was born in Enhaut, PA 1950,
my dad is Harry W Sheaffer, Jr born in Steelton, PA 1927
my Grand father Harry W Sheaffer, born in Enhaut, PA 1907 died 2002
My GGrand father was John William Sheaffer, born in Enhaut, PA 1875 died 1965 married Ida Moyer.
My GGGrand father was John B Sheaffer, born Cumberland County, PA 1849 died 1904 in Enhaut, PA - married Suzanna Thumma from Cumberland County
I went to Central Dauphin East HS 1968, I had a Steve and Jeffrey Sheaffer in that class also.
