Hello there-
I grew up in Salinas, Ca. My Portuguese side of the family has always been somewhat of a mystery. My name is Silva. Other names in the family are Silveira, Marcillino and Souza. There are relative in Santa Cruz, San Jose, and Sprekels. Really all over that area. I have been told that the Silva side came from Corvo and the Silveira side came from Faial, but I am not totally sure of either. Perhaps if not relatives, we can be friends in our search for roots.

Yes, my grandfather, Antone Pimentel was from Ponta Garca. They were known there are Pimentel Calouro or Caloura or Coloura. LOL. My grandmother Mary Robello's family was also from Ponta Garca by way of Maui, Hawaii. My grandfather only had 1 sibling, a brother who as far as I'm aware never married. (family stories).
