Priscilla,
I'm really sorry because I haven't been to this site for a while. Do you have a family tree on Ancestry.com or another site? I'd be glad to let you see my tree on Ancestry. I'd like to see the name of Joseph Wilcher's siblings. I'm not positive about the name Elijah Wilcher. I think Joseph could be related to my family tree. You can also reach me at swhpny@hotmail.com.
Thanks,
Susan Wilcher Henderson
I'm not absolutely certain, but I think I can trace my line back to Joseph Wilcher, born about 1765 in Amherst Co Va. The closest Wilcher's that I have been able to positivly trace are out of Botetourt Co Va. There are lots of Wilcher's stll in that area. And to add another twist, my branch changed the spelling to Welcher in the 1930's when my gr-grandparents relocated to Halifax Co, Va where my grandfather attended school and the teachers there began spelling it with an "E" instead of an "I". I currently live near Roanoke VA which is adjacent to Botetourt Co. It would be great if we can join these 2 families. Non of your names ring a bell, but I'll look into it and would love to share informaton. Thanks, Priscilla
I'm interested in the Wilcher family line. I see you're from Virginia and I had Wilcher ancestors from there. My father, Frank Wilcher (b. 1928); Frank Ezra Wilcher (born 1891), Phil Wilcher (born 1867 in Rock Island, IL); Patrick Henry (born 1817 in KY and moved to Rock Island); Josiah Wilcher (born 1795 in VA and moved to KY); Elijah Wilcher (born in Amherst, VA. I guess he was born about 1770); That's all I have. Do any of these names sound familiar?
