Thanks for replying, Robyn. Yes, Walter Lee Jeffries was my paternal grandfather. I'm the only child of his son, Walter Leon. My grandfather was raised by the Dedmons and I do have a copy of a court record in which the guardianship was changed.
I found a record on Ancestry.com under Mississippi marriages showing that Mose Jeffries married Rosa Dedman [sic] on 05 Nov 1888 in Yazoo, Ms, which sounds right except for the name. I'm still learning, just started about 18 months ago.
Do you have anything on the Jeffries line? I can't go back farther than Mose's father.
Would it be possible to continue through e-mail? Thanks. Jean
David and Winston were brothers which is my husbands great grandfather. So you and my husband are related. David was the 2nd child of Samuel and Sarah Ann and Winston was the 9th child. What a small world.

The DEDMAN family is my husbands mothers family. I have some information on the Desha Dedman,s, but have not updated anything on this line in awhile. The Desha line is Samuel Dedman that came to AR in about 1850. Would like to see if we are related.

My paternal grandfather's mother was Martha Rowena Dedman, who married Mose Jeffries. Maybe we could compare notes? Thanks.
