My Grandfathers name was Jonas Voskevicus also seen spelt Voskewicus, Woskewicus
he changed his name to George Smith. My Grandmothers name was Ona Aliskauckiute also seen spelt Alisauckas her name was changed to Annie Smith, they had a daughter also named Annie born in 1920 at Bellshill and my father Juozas which was changed to Joseph born at Bellshill but registered at Holytown, and I think they had another son who died at young age or at birth, They must have changed their name after 1927 because my Dads birth cert has Voskevicius as his surname. My Nan died at 159 Main Street Bellshill and I found someone who I think must have been a relative who travelled from Halifax Canada to Liverpool in 1929 and gave the same address in Bellshill his name was Vincas Alisauckas (William Allish) but it says his Country of Origin was Russian, which confused me. My father never spoke about this at all he just kept saying we will have a surprise when he died which we did good luck with your search. Ian
