My paternal greatgrandmother was Martha Rowena Dedmon and I'm interested in learning more about her family. Your photo showing a man and woman on your page looks familiar to me for some reason. Are they in this family?

Hey, Sherry. My ancestor was David D. Deadman son of Samuel H. Deadman and Sarah Ann Whitworth. David was born circa 1837 in Alabama and migrated to Desha Co., AR with his parents. He married a Sarah (Ridge?) circa 1865. He was in the 1860 and 1870 census in Desha and in Yazoo Co., MS in 1880. He and Sarah had 6 children: Samuel Richard, Sarah M. L. J., Martha Rowena, William Edward, Thomas Frank and Annie E. Dedmon. My line is through Samuel Richard Dedmon and his daughter Etta Lou Dedmon.

I saw a 1997 querie on the net regarding the Deadman family. I sent a short email but I didn't know if you still had that address. I am a descendant of David D. Deadman born c. 1837 in Alabama. I have some information on the Deadman family of Desha if you are interested.
