I am in UK by the way - I know several Truscotts went to America - mostly to the mining areas and have been in touch with one of their descendents there. There were 5 William Truscotts baptised within an 2 year period - all from the same village! Knowing which was the right one is almost impossible! Thanks for your input - knowing that at least one William went to Australia is a help.

I have managed to get some way back but then the families all have the same first names and it becomes impossible to know which William Truscott is ours. Does this ring any bells with you?
