Hmm, do you know if your Aunt knew Mya Peck? She spoke German and actually went to Baden and did the German research. Priest's at the local church kept the Family births, Baptisms and deaths for the family. Anton's gravestone in Portland is written in German also.
How exciting! I know Pat and have worked with her several times. When the History Museum in Des Moines contacted me for Melcher info, I contacted Pat since she knows much more about Iowa than I do. Much of my Iowa information comes from her. I know only that the Melchers moved to Texas. Was it after the E Melcher/Beck Bros. Pottery burned? I can't remember without looking it up! So is Kent Pat's husband and your cousin/brother? You can e-mail me at SimpleHome25@aol.com
I have worked many years on Melcher Family History with an intense amount of time spent on Melcher's in Pottery throughout the US. It is amazing how far reaching their influence has been! I knew that Robert went to Texas and have actually bought one of my Pots out of Texas. I am on the Board of Trustees at the Portland Museum in Louisville, KY and am currently working with the Oldham County History Center sharing information for their Exhibit opening next Week. I would love to share information and ideas and family information with you. I'm always happy to connect to another cousin!! Denise
