Kudos to Hollywood Cemetery - Houston Tx

Good day all,

I felt compelled to write to all about Hollywood Cemetery in Houston Tx to help turn around their image.  I recently contact Cheryl Danford who is the manager of the property to assist me with locating a couple of location of graves for families from FindAGrave.com.  Little did I know that Cheryl was a genealogy buff herself and used that site to help locate some of her relatives.  In chatting with her via email for two or three weeks she had downloaded the…

Hughes, Thomas and Ada

I am looking for the relatives of Thomas J. Hughes and Ada M. Hughes who lived, died, and are buried in Maricopa County Arizona. I have their death certificates and burial plots.  They had one daughter, Norma Elizabeth Hughes, born in 1906.  Norma had a son, James Edward Smith, born in August 1924.  James was adopted to a family in Phoenix.

I have James's birth certificate, the original adoption papers and his information through his death in 1985.  I have all the adoptive parents's…

My Genealogy Day 9/17/2011

Sometimes I am just overwhelmed by the unorganized boxes of papers, and un-filed documents on my computer.  I can only imagine how much easier my life and my research would be if I took the time to get myself organized.

Well, today is the day that I begin to attempt to clean my room and prepare it for all the materials I…

Eulogy – A Way To Remember and Celebrate Someone

Because I am in the business of helping people create Legacy video biographies and tribute videos, people often want to share eulogies they have written for others. Yesterday a friend of mine sent me one that she had written for her mother, who passed away earlier this year. It was a three page Word document that had me in tears. Not because of any sadness for this woman’s passing but for the joy of having a daughter who knew her so well that she could so beautifully capture the essence of…

Chat Room Invite To All Members

I'd like to take the time to invite all the new members (and old) to visit the chat room.

This is a great place to meet some of the other researchers and to receive a warm welcome to the site.

There is usually someone there who is willing to help with research, give advise,or just shoot the breeze for a few minutes.

I've been a member of Genealogywise since the summer of 2009 and have enjoyed learning and helping others in chat.

Don't be afraid we don't…
