Saturday Night Genealogy Fun Father's Mother's Father's Name

  My father was Ray Dee Jones born in Iowa died in Santa Rosa, CA. His  mother was Victoria Mae Foulk born in Iowa and died in Cheyenne, Wyo.

  Her father was Harvey Edward Foulk b 1867 in Illinios and died ??? no one knows.  He may have run away, he may have been murdered. Many stories and I have yet to find proof of any of it.

SEARCHING MY HUSBAND'S MARQUIS ANCESTOR

For many years I have been searching for the answer to who my husband's ggg grandfather was.His surname was Marquis & he married Elizabeth Thompson. He had a son named Jesse Marquis born 20 May 1820 in Pa. Family history states that he died just before Jesse's birth. I don't know where he died or why. Anyone who could help me I would be very grateful. I have Marquis family history from Jesse to current.

The BABY in the Picture. HOFFMAN/ FABER

The picture shows a baby in Mr. Faber's lap.  Is it the  first, second or third child.  I would think some of those in IOWA would know but so far no concrete answers.  

A clue would be the picture was taken in Illinois. 

So when did they live in Illinois?  Look for old letters, reports in newspapers and census information may give us a clue.

Soldier of Fortune - The Tom Reilly Story

Tom Reilly was the son of Margaret Drake from Ballinulty, and Edward Reilly of Molly, whose father was Thomas O Reilly. He had a twin Ned, who died in acar accident, and his sister Bridget who married Peter Donohoe of Lislea, was my grandmother.

Unknown Hungarian relative: Picture of the week 6/15/14

This is Frank Mattes a photographer in Philadelphia, PA.  He was born 14 Jul 1881 in Vesprod, Bacs-Bodrog, Hungary,  he came to the US in 1906 and was naturalized in 1914.  He married Magdalena "Lena" Teufel and they had a son names Frank Jr who was born in 1912 but died in 1915, and a daughter Anna Helen Mattes, born in 24 Jan 1917 who was still single and living at home in 1940.  The last record I have found on Frank is his 1942 WWII draft card and he…

I've been working on my Prowell Family.

My Great-Great Grandmother, Anna Prowell(1830-1912), married to Elijah S Krone( 1834-1918) & mother to Andrew Curtain Krone(1862-1930). She was the daughter of, Jacob Prowell (1808-1870) & Jane Potts(1809-1886).
