James W. French was possibly born in New York in 1821 his father James French was born in New Fairfield Conn in 1798 and moved to Bradford Co. PA as a boy with his family. He may have lived in New York City where he moved after fighting in the War of 1812. He is said to have worked as a printer although we have no proof this particular James French we found in Ward 4 is our ancestor. So here I follow the two James French's and I loose them in New York.
