My mother was from Durham England, thus the title - " 4 o'clock tea" . I have alot of information on my families, dates of birth, death, names and places of birth, etc. What I do not have a lot of is stories and happenings . I have recently reconnected to my neighborhood and town where I and my parents and 4 sisters and 2 brothers grew up for the early years of our lives. It is fun to hear from friends that we lived around and be updated on events past and present. Something I vividly remember is Tuesday Tea, a party or informal gathering of British war brides at our house. My mother would bake "Victoria Sponge Cake " , chocolate eclairs and cream puffs, and make little crustless cucumber and meat sandwiches . It gave the ladies a social outlet and a chance to reminiss about pre WW II and their homeland.
