Archives.com: 4.6 M Lutheran Church Records Now Online‏

The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America’s (ELCA) birth, marriage and death records are only available on Archives.com. Originally, the records were kept by ELCA congregations across the United States. Until now, it was necessary to know which church your ancestors attended in order to find their records. With this collection, you can search across all of the records at once without needing to know the exact church. The records are now live and searchable.

The collection includes:

• ·        4,599,836 records

• ·        Contains birth, baptism, confirmation, marriage, death and burial records

• ·        Approximate dates: 1793-1940

·        These records came from approximately 1,000 rolls of microfilm
