The Genealogy & Family History Social Network

Hi everyone,
I was never a part of Facebook (althought I've seen a little of my kids' pages) so I'm trying to figure out how this works. I'm really hoping this doesn't become something that I become so wrapped up in that I never have time for research! Looking forward to meeting lots of new friends!

I share your "don't know so much or how to" dilemma. I'm 55, creeping up on 56 quicker than I ever thought imaginable. I twitter, but have had problems with it, I am on Facebook and have lots of contacts, but prefer the Farmtown game to some of the chatter. I've wondered for over a month now if I should or could or would blog about the stuff I research for genealogy. Would anyone read it? Is it worth the effort? Who really cares what I think, ahhh the list goes on and on. Will I blog? Will I post? Will I be able to keep my account at Twitter from being suspended (again)? A part of me says, "yeah, woman! BLOG!!!" I find lots of obscure information, I love to research. I can form sentences that make sense to others. Maybe all this stuff in the file cabinet would be interesting to others. Another part of me says, "But there are so many blogs out there already.." And as for Twitter, I personally think their customer service reeks, but I tweet, have followers, and they are all pretty nice, except for those trying to sell me something I don't need. I don't dare delete them from following me, or I'll be suspended again. So, now, I have to read past their hype to get to the genealogy posts. It's a system that needs fixed, but for now, I just don't read the posts that are not about genealogy or history. As for followers, they are loyal to a fault. Maybe I do have something to add to the twitter community, we'll see.
