Interesting things happen when one blogs. Someone said," use phrases that catch the eye and the mind, get the readers attention." But my mind obviously does not work the way others do and it leaves some readers very confused, so I am told.
I mentioned in the last blog having a home for your research questions to go to, to roost. To help you wind your way through the maze of documents and data and information that is today presented to a family historian or genealogist.
Liking to think that our local society is my home for asking questions and getting guidance when I am not giving guidance. Home is basically a comfort zone and new researchers can be very intimidated quickly with so much information that is out there.
One's other home can be the society that is where your ancestor lived and the support, help and guidance they can give is so valuable. They are familiar with the court records, the documents and some times even your descendants down line kin.
So for those that read my previous blog and were lost it had to do with joining a society and having a home to go to for help as needed whether near your house or near your ancestors home of long ago.

Susi,
I didn't read your last blog posting in question in this latest blog posting because like others have mentioned for themselves, I find that I don't have the patience to go through and read the blogs but if I find a title that catches my attention then I will atleast take the time to skim over the post.
It's your blog so I beleive that you should blog the way you feel comfortable blogging. If anyone needs something clarified I'd bet that you'd be more than happy to clarify for them. Anyone that has a hard time reading and understanding your blogs would NOT want to read any of MY attempts at blogging lol =) We're not all great writers and or typers! ;)

Melinda, the issue was a poorly written and confusing blog post. It had nothing to do with quoting anyone nor did it have anything to do with citing a source.
Using Catch phrases is a good idea
Susi, since I am the person you are referring to, I would like to take the time to clarify and correct the content of your most recent post. I was not confused nor was I lost with regard to your "previous blog post." As a writer, I found the opening phrase "catching" only in that it made no sense, grammatical or otherwise. Also, I was a little miffed that the last time you came into the room and posted a link, the link took me to the general page for links on genealogywise.com. I am not a person who gets "lost." I am, however, someone who takes my work and writing seriously, and I value my time. I do not wish to waste that time sorting through someone else's writing that forces me to edit it before I can make sense of it.
