James French of Conn/PA/NY

James W. French was possibly born in New York in 1821 his father James French was born in New Fairfield Conn in 1798 and moved to Bradford Co. PA as a boy with his family. He may have lived in New York City where he moved after fighting in the War of 1812. He is said to have worked as a printer although we have no proof this particular James French we found in Ward 4 is our ancestor. So here I follow the two James French's and I loose them in New York. Where in New York were James W. children born before he came to Bradford Co.where his father was living at one point? Where in New York was his father living where he was born? Or was James W. born in PA? Who was his mother? I have many questions about this branch of my family.
